DIY Ultimate Detox and Brightening Face Mask.

Summer is here and our skin needs some extra love. We carelessly expose our skin to the sun and all that UV rays and sweat results in Black heads and burns. Wearing sunscreen daily and getting a good facial on a monthly basis can help us get clear and healthy skin. However, treating your skin at home with natural products is equally important.

Charcoal detox masks are everywhere now. We see them in Spas and on the shelves bearing hefty price tags. Today, I am here with my DIY ultimate detox and brightening facial mask that won’t cost you big money.

Activated charcoal is a porous element that pulls out the toxins and oils trapped in our pores. It is also beneficial for treating acne and excessively oily skin.

The particular green tea I have used for this mask is Jasmine tea. My all time favorite, but you can choose any other green tea as well. Jasmine tea is full of anti-oxidants and anti-inflammatory properties. It cures acne and skin burns quite well and also smells amazing.

Fuller’s earth clay, also known as Multani mitti is a staple product in every Pakistani girl’s skincare regime. This clay has phenomenal oil absorbing, purifying and anti inflammatory properties. It helps reduces acne, textured skin and soothes burns.

Combine ½ teaspoon of activated charcoal powder, 1 tablespoon of Multani mitti and 4 tablespoons of green tea. Mix it well and apply it on to your face. Let it dry completely and then wash it off while massaging in a circular motion. Activated Charcoal powder has a gritty texture that will help you gently exfoliate your skin while you rub it on your skin. Wash your face with your favorite face wash and viola! You are done.

You will notice a visible difference in the condition of your skin after using it twice. Continue to use it at alternate days and your skin will thank you.

Much love.
