Bio Oil! Is It Worth The Hype? Review.

Hello Everyone,

I am back with another review. My acne scars have been my biggest insecurity and I’ve been trying everything to get rid of them and have the smooth and clear skin back. After attending the launch of Bio Oil and their mini workshop at the launch party I realized I’ve been missing out in something I needed the most; A scar removing oil that does not clog pores. I have been using this oil ever since so, lets get into the review now.

Bio Oil

Bio Oil

ABOUT THE PRODUCT:

Bio-Oil is a specialist skincare oil that helps improve the appearance of scars, stretch marks and uneven skin tone. It is also effective for aging and dehydrated skin. Bio-Oil has won 332 skincare awards and has become the No.1 selling scar and stretch mark product in 24 countries since its global launch in 2002.

MY THOUGHTS:

PACKAGING:
It comes in a cylindrical plastic bottle with a white screw off cap. The packaging is secure and sturdy that doesn’t let the oil leak. The product description and instructions are mentioned on the bottle and the box that the bottle comes encased in.]

QUALITY:
It is a transparent oil with a herbal but pleasant scent. The oil has a light weight non greasy texture that does not clog the pores. It feels more like a moisturizer but better. Even though my skin is combination type and it doesn’t fancy anything oil based on it but my skin loved bio oil. I massage this oil on my skin in circular motions, more over the areas where acne scars are in abundance and then gently pat my fingers all over my face to increase the blood flow in that area. It is enriched with essential oils that are great for skin. I have been using it for a month now and my scars are already fading away. However, the first time I applied it on my face, it made my skin itch. I resisted the urge to scratch my skin and the sensation went away after some time. I you have oily skin, you might want to do a patch test before applying it to your whole face just to be sure that it doesn’t break you out.

PRICE & AVAILABILITY:
Bio oil is available at Dolmen Mall Clifton and online for PKR 1200

FINAL VERDICT:
After having a bad experience with a bunch of face oils I was afraid of using it. I am glad I tried it anyways. My scars are not completely faded but I can see a visible difference in the condition of my skin. My sister is also using it to remove the scars she got from dermatitis and she is happy with the results as well. Do I recommend it? Yes I do!

RATING: 4.5/5

PROS:

  • Light weight.
  • Non greasy.
  • Contains skin friendly oils.
  • Pleasant herbal scent.
  • Does not clog pores.
  • Does what it claims to do.
  • No breakouts.
  • Moisturizes skin.
  • Little goes a long way.

CONS:

  • Might cause itching initially.

  1. I was praying as i was reading the review for it to be effective as claimed, im glad it worked even tho not completely removed scars but atleast did something to fade em. I think you should continue using this oil to see if it helps fading the scars further

  3. I suggest you try the vitamin c serum from andalou naturals. It is also widely availble at scentsation in doleman or online. I have never has a scar linger around with this stuff. It’s great and brightens your skin at the same time.
