Since Makeup Revolution has taken the blogosphere by a storm, I decided to try a few more products from this brand. Today, I am here with MUR pressed powder. I had high hopes with it. Let’s see if it lived up to my expectations or not.
ABOUT THE PRODUCT:
This compact powder evens out, reduces shine, and sets your makeup. Apply alone or over foundation for a flawless finish. Easy to apply and build able coverage. We have used a unique compact which includes a sponge, and with a mirror.
Perfect for touch ups on the go and a MUST for when you are on the move.
Shades Available: 4
It comes in a sleek black and transparent pan. It has the most travel friendly and interesting packing I have come across up till now. The powder pan slides out of the transparent casing that has a little pocket for the sponge applicator underneath. Upon flipping the case, you would see a mirror, ideal for touch ups on the go. I would give it a 10 out of 10 for packaging.
MUR pressed powder has a nice and silky texture that feels like powder cream (if that makes sense). It feels more like a powder foundation than a setting powder. Applying it over a foundation would too much as it may appear chalky if layered up on foundation or even by itself. Blending it might be a nightmare for some with a brush. The sponge that comes with it is the best tool to apply it. It has a lasting power of 2 to 3 hours, which is quite decent in my opinion. I love how it keeps the oiliness at bay even in summers. It does not have the most natural finish. It gives that “wearing makeup” kind of look. As I said, it is more like a powder foundation because is nicely pigmented and gives a medium coverage. It does not settle into fine lines or accentuate any dry area on the face which is a plus point.
PRICE AND AVAILABILITY:
I have no idea why my hand is looking purplish over here :s
As much as the packaging awed me, the quality disheartened me. On days when I wear it to university, My friends ask me if I have applied makeup because they can see a film of powder on my face. If they work on the quality a bit it would be every girl’s makeup bag staple.
